Prayer …

Heavenly Father,
you are really
worthy of our best words and best thoughts and best imaginings. We not only
worship and submit to you, but we rejoice that you are who you are, we
celebrate what you have done, and we long for what you are yet to do. You are
magnificent, my Father and my God. Through Infant Jesus, and because of his
matchless love, we praise you. Amen.

Reflection on Today's Gospel (Mark 12:1-12)

This parable speaks
to us today some important truths about God and the way he deals with his
people. First, it tells us of God's kindness and trust. The vineyard is well prepared
with everything the tenants need. The owner went away and missing the
vineyard in the hands of the tenants. God likewise trusts us enough to give
us freedom to run life as we decide. This parable also tells us of God's
patience and justice. Not once, but many times he forgives the tenants their amount
overdue. But while the tenants take advantage of the owner's patience, his
judgment and justice and triumph in the end. Jesus predicts both his death
and his ultimate success. He knew he would be rejected and be killed, but he
also knew that would not be the end. After denunciation He would come glory –
the glory of resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father. How
do we share in this glory? By presenting to Jesus' kingly rule in our lives.
Jesus promises that we will stand much fruit if we abide in him. The Lord
also trusts his gifts to every of us and he gives us work to do in his
vineyard – the body of Christ.
