Heavenly Father, our
Savior and Redeemer, thank you for knowing us before we were able to know.
Thank you for selecting our life and giving it to us. Thank you for giving us
the gifts, abilities and talents that you have given us. Now please help us
live as if we are made special by you, because we are! Through Infant Jesus we
pray. Amen.

Short
Reflection on Today's Gospel (John 16: 22-34)
|
|
Jesus tells his
disciples about three very important things the action of the Holy Spirit –
to encourage the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment. The
original word for convince also means condemn. The Holy Spirit is our
Sanctifier and he makes us holy as God is holy. He does this first by convicting
us of our sin and by bringing us respectfully to the foot of the Cross. The
Spirit convinces us of God's love and mercy and of our utter dependence on
God for his mercy and grace. We everyone
needs the power of the Holy Spirit to lead us from the mistake of our sinful
ways and to show us the way of love and truth.
