Those who love the LORD hate evil
Psalm 97:10: Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
Thoughts on Today's Verse... (September 26, 2010)
The Lord will preserve the souls of his saints from sin, from apostasy, and despair, under the greatest trials of them. These faithful servants of God may well rejoice and be glad, because Jesus is glorified, and whatever tends to Jesus honour, is his our pleasure. Care is taken for their safety. But something more is meant than these faithfuls live. God will deliver them out of the hands of the wicked one, and preserve these faithful safe to his heavenly kingdom. And these rejoice in Christ Jesus, and in his exaltation, have fountains of joy prepared for them in heaven. Those who sow in tears, shall reap in joy bible says. Gladness and happiness is sure to the those upright in heart, because the joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment. Sinners will tremble, but saints will rejoice at God's holiness always. As the faithful/beloved ones hates sin, yet freely loves the person of the repentant sinner who believes in Jesus, who will make a final separation between the person he loves and the sin he hates, and sanctify God's people wholly, body, soul, and spirit.
Let us Pray...
Almighty Everliving God, make our heart pained by the evil in our world. Give us a holy revulsion to things opposed to your will and character. Yet Father, just as you redeemed us by grace, and rescued us while a captive to sin, give us courage to care about those who are in evil One's embrace. Give us special grace to overcome our burden and temptations. Through Infant Jesus we pray. Amen.
